Terms of service
Introduction: It is important to understand the nature of the Academy of Mystical Illumination. We offer a blend of classes and individual counseling designed to help people gain liberating philosophical and spiritual insights, into who we are and what life is all about. Plato’s ancient academy had but one teacher, namely Plato. Similarly, the Academy of Mystical Illumination has one teacher, namely Dr. Mark Dillof. Group glasses, individual philosophical counseling, and tutorials — which are mainly held online, but also available in person — are not for college credit. But if, for some reason, you need proof of having attended the academy, Dr. Dillof will try to provide it.
Those seeking our offerings agree to the following terms of service:
Services and Responsibilities:
Students understand that profound philosophical and mystical insights often register on a person not only intellectually, but also emotionally, and even physically. Such insights are bound to be somewhat disorienting, at least initially so. You, the student, as well as Dr. Dillof must make a determination whether you’re inwardly ready for this spiritual adventure. The responsibility, though, is solely your own. Furthermore, although Dr. Dillof is concerned for the well being of his student’s, you acknowledge and agree that you are ultimately responsible for managing your actions and mental state before, during, and after these sessions, regardless of whether such actions were discussed in connection with these sessions.
You understand that our program and services are neither professional psychotherapy nor a treatment program. Nor are they intended to be a surrogate for professional psychotherapy. Our services, in other words, do not involve identifying, diagnosing, or treating medical or psychological maladies. You understand that Dr. Dillof — who is the provider of the services — is not a licensed therapist, psychiatrist, psychologist, counselor, or medical doctor. You agree to seek professional medical, psychiatric, psychological, and/or therapeutic help, if you deem it necessary. You understand and agrees that Dr. Mark Dillof isn’t responsible for the your decision whether or not to seek such professional help, and/or the results of any such decision.
What the academy offers is not, therefore, mental health, but rather classes and counseling designed to promote higher consciousness, also known as Self-realization or enlightenment. You understand that a spiritual teacher cannot guarantee how far you will travel along the road to Self-realization.
You acknowledge that you are of sound mind and fully capable of understanding the extent and limitations of our services. You will not attempt, in any way, to hold Dr. Mark Dillof responsible for his or her choices or actions, whether or not such choices or actions were in any way resulting from or related to the services offered or your relationship with Dr. Dillof. You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Mark Dillof from any loss or liability related in any way to these sessions.
Confidentiality:
Mark Dillof will not disclose information that you reveal to him, in connection with his teaching and individual philosophical counseling sessions.
Notwithstanding the foregoing, you acknowledge that the relationship between you and Mark Dillof is not subject to doctor/patient confidentiality or any other legal protection. Client agrees that Mark Dillof may disclose to appropriate legal and/or law enforcement authorities any fact(s) revealed by you that Mark Dillof reasonably believes it has a legal, ethical, or other obligation to disclose. Client agrees to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Dr. Dillof for any disclosure, and/or any results of such disclosure, made pursuant to this clause.
Appointment Scheduling and Payment of Fees:
You agree to pay the program fee prior to beginning the program or make an arrangement through a payment service (such as Klarna).
You agree to provide twenty-four (24) hours’ notice prior to cancelling or changing any individual one-on-one appointment, if you wish to receive a refund.
In the event that you wish to discontinue the program prior to completing a prepaid program, you understand that you will not be refunded your program fee and will still be responsible for making payments they arranged financing with a third party.
Upon purchase of any of the services proved by the Academy of Mystical Illumination, Client acknowledges that they have read the preceding information, has had ample opportunity to discuss and ask questions related to this agreement, and understands his or her rights and obligations pursuant to this agreement.
